James M. Kasim
President & COO
Jim Kasim serves as President & Chief Operating Officer of BentleyForbes and is a member of the Company's Executive Committee. In this capacity, Mr. Kasim is responsible for all
areas of operations and implementing the vision of the Executive Committee, including the Company's
capital markets, investment, asset management, accounting, legal and human resource functions.
Before taking his current position with BentleyForbes, Mr. Kasim most recently served as Chief Financial Officer for Pacific Office Properties Trust, Inc. (NYSE Amex: PCE).
Mr. Kasim originally joined BentleyForbes in 2005 and served as the Company's Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer until 2008. During that time he was responsible for the Company's corporate finance, financial reporting and asset management functions, while being integrally involved in the acquisition process, including deal negotiation and acquisition due diligence. He also oversaw all aspects of the Company's Hospitality division.
Prior to his original tenure with BentleyForbes, Mr. Kasim was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young's Real Estate and Hospitality practice where he served for approximately eleven years. During that tenure, his clients included some of the largest real estate and hospitality companies in the nation.
Mr. Kasim received an MBA, with honors, from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Kasim has also served as Adjunct Professor for the School of Policy, Planning and Development at the University of Southern California in the Master's Degree in Real Estate Development Program. He continues to serve as a guest lecturer for many of its other programs.
